Tamuna Gabilaia is a seasoned strategist and transformational leader who helps organizations navigate complex challenges and capitalize on opportunities. Her expertise is built on decades of experience working with and advising world-renowned CEOs, high-ranking government officials, senior executives, association leaders, academics, and other key stakeholders at the highest levels worldwide.
Known for her decisive leadership and action-oriented, inclusive approach, Tamuna excels at making high-impact decisions, implementing innovative solutions, and adapting plans for optimal results in complex environments.
As founder and CEO of Kaleidra Global Advisors, Tamuna brings unique insight to helping organizations navigate today's rapidly evolving global and business landscape.
Her experience in leading organizational transformations, developing strategic initiatives, and building multi-stakeholder partnerships enables her to guide clients through complex challenges with clarity and actionable solutions.
Brought on board as the first-ever Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA), Tamuna led the organization's comprehensive transformation, serving as spokesperson for the $170 billion global direct selling industry. Under her tenure, WFDSA spearheaded industry-defining initiatives that established global organizational standards, enhanced operational efficiencies, and strengthened industry positioning through innovative partnerships and strategic initiatives. Tamuna led high-level delegations to various markets that helped improve industry conditions and regulatory environments. During this time, WFDSA, an organization of over 60 national direct selling associations representing hundreds of companies worldwide, was transformed into a dynamic, globally influential federation with far-reaching impact.
Prior to joining WFDSA, Tamuna was a diplomat, where she negotiated bilateral trade agreements, participated in WTO multilateral negotiations, and prepared high-level economic policy briefs for presidential and ministerial visits. She worked closely with government leaders, policymakers, and international organizations, shaping economic policies and fostering global partnerships.
Tamuna has served on various executive and advisory boards, including the WFDSA Board of Delegates and Operating Group. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT) and is a recipient of several leadership awards.
Tamuna regularly speaks at international conferences and high-level forums, often as a keynote speaker, sharing insights on entrepreneurship, women's economic empowerment, global business trends, and many other topics. Her insights are frequently featured in leading publications.
Tamuna holds an MA from the School of International Service, American University, Washington, DC.
